A little bit about Jessica's charity work!

This organisation supports research and works tirelessly to improve treatment and care for people living with cancer. Jessica and all connected with her official website raise money and actively support this worthy cause.

Sheffield’s Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity has benefited to the tune of nearly £3,000 thanks to a 10 sport challenge by a group of local men… and there’s more to come.

The event at Woodbourne Road saw the first leg in a series of Sports Challenges for Pauline Fidler – named after the mother of one of the participants, Richard Fidler.

The 16 competitors took part in a modified decathlon of 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m, javelin, shot put, long jump, high jump and triple jump over the course of one day.

Organiser Phil Parkin, who runs Jessica's official website and creative video company Quick Feet, said: “It started as a bunch of 20 and 30-somethings who wanted to test their fitness, but it developed into raising money for Weston Park. Pauline was a close friend of my family and Richard is planning a series of cycle rides and other events so it made sense to kick it off with this particular challenge.

Richard Fidler, managing director of publishers Remember the Name, said: “It was hard work and it was a hot day, but everyone had fun and we raised a lot of money so it was a great way of starting off a summer of fundraising.”

Phil Parkin and Richard Fidler were joined Andrew Parkin, Peter King-Smith, Krystof Kotylo, Tom Kotylo, Thomas Horwood, Mark Wooffinden, Matthew Newbould, Matthew Wright, Dan Connelly, Andy Stevenson, Darryl Tomlinson, Jack Ridge, Matt Dean and Julian Parramore in the challenge.
